Virtual Archaeological Training Platform

The software for the project involves developing a platform that simulates
the archaeological excavation process using augmented reality (AR)  technology. Designed to operate on game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine, the software includes the following components:

3D Data Integration: High-resolution 3D models created using Lidar scanning technology are integrated into the software. These models represent excavation site layers, stratigraphic details, and embedded artifacts.

XR Interaction Module: Enables users to enter a virtual excavation site via an XR platform. Users can utilize virtual excavation tools to remove soil layers, analyze stratigraphy, and document findings.

Dynamic Training Modules: Includes interactive training modules to teach users essential skills such as excavation techniques, documentation, and reporting. The software provides real-time feedback to correct user errors.

Virtual Worker Module: Features virtual workers who act based on user instructions, facilitating the management of excavation processes. This module simulates field organization and team management skills.

The software allows users to learn excavation processes both individually and collaboratively, showcasing an innovative application of technology in
archaeological education.

Huawei Developer Competition, 1st Place
